The Crown Chakra is the highest energy center in the physical body before we ascend into the realm of transpersonal (beyond human) chakras. It acts as the gateway connecting your physical body to the spiritual plane. It is associated with the pituitary gland—located near the center of the brain, which regulates the endocrine system—though it is also believed to have the potential to activate new areas of the brain for spiritual growth and leaps in consciousness.
The Crown Chakra serves as the entry point through which life force energy enters your energetic system and flows down the spine. It connects to inspiration, your Dharma (or life purpose), and operates as a direct line to your Higher Self and cosmic consciousness. It is also the focal point through which you can manifest whatever you desire. On a physical level, the Crown Chakra is associated with the brain.
Note on the Pituitary Gland: The pituitary gland is a pea-sized endocrine gland that regulates all other endocrine glands. It releases various hormones controlling body growth, sexual development, metabolism, parts of pregnancy and lactation, water/salt concentration in the kidneys, body temperature, and pain sensations.
